Help at Home Care offers exceptional support for the elderly in their own homes throughout the Lowestoft and Beccles areas, ensuring they remain independent, safe, and comfortable in the place they cherish most.
Established in 2022, Help at Home Care is a small, family-run home care service that is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Our Registered Manager, Karen, brings over 18 years of experience in the care sector. Throughout her career, Karen identified the need for flexible home support that is genuinely person-centred. This approach focuses on building care packages that cater to individual routines, allowing people to live their lives as they wish rather than adhering to a strict schedule.
This philosophy inspired the creation of Help at Home Care.
**Care that is personal to you**
We believe that effective care for elderly individuals begins with truly understanding them as unique individuals. We take the time to listen to what matters to you, how you prefer things to be done, and what brings you comfort. Recognizing that each person's needs differ and can evolve over time is central to our care philosophy.
Our flexible approach allows us to adjust visits according to your changing circumstances, rather than expecting you to adapt to a rigid home care schedule. We prioritize building trusting relationships, ensuring that you often interact with familiar members of our team who are well-acquainted with your preferences and how you wish to be supported. We feel this consistency fosters comfort, value, and reassurance, enhancing your overall wellbeing.
**Supporting you every step of the way**
Choosing the right care for yourself or a loved one is an important decision, and we understand it can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you require assistance with everyday activities, medication support, help around your home, or merely someone to spend time with, we are here to listen and help you determine the appropriate level of support. Our goal is to maintain your independence rather than take it away, always respecting your choices and how you wish to lead your life.
**Flexible visits to suit you**
Our home care visits are customized around your individual needs and requirements. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution—our minimum visit time is 30 minutes, and you can schedule visits as frequently or infrequently as you need. Whether you need a bit of support to help you stay independent or need more regular assistance throughout the day, we'll collaborate with you and your family, providing care that feels just right for you.
At Help at Home Care, we want you to feel safe, respected, and cared for while continuing to live life on your own terms.
Because care should be about the person, not just the care they need.
**Celebrating Our Success**
We are absolutely thrilled to share the results of our very first CQC inspection. Help at Home Care has received a GOOD rating overall, with an OUTSTANDING designation for Caring. Reading the commendations in our CQC report has filled us with pride.
The CQC noted that we "consistently demonstrated an exceptional standard of care, placing people at the heart of everything they did." They praised our staff's genuine compassion, kindness, and respect, along with their commitment to understanding each person's needs, preferences, and life history, ensuring that our care remains personalized.
**The little things matter**
What matters most to us is the feedback we receive from those we support and their families. Clients describe our caregivers as "lovely," "very good," "attentive," "professional," and "kind," with many recommending our services. The CQC also acknowledged that our team consistently goes above and beyond to deliver truly person-centred care.
One touching example involved a client who mentioned missing tonic and lemon served in a "posh" glass. The next time their carer visited, they brought a bottle of tonic and lemons, and they shared this together, establishing a delightful weekly tradition.
To us, that is the essence of care—sometimes it’s the little things that make a significant difference, listening to someone’s joys, remembering what makes them happy, and taking the time to brighten their day.
**Supporting independence, choice, and control**
We take great pride in how the CQC acknowledged our commitment to helping individuals maintain their independence, choice, and control. Our team focuses on establishing trust and confidence, supporting people in doing things for themselves wherever possible, and assisting them to achieve what they may not have thought achievable. For us, providing home care means empowering people to continue living life on their terms.
**A team we trust**
None of these accomplishments would be feasible without our outstanding team. The CQC described our culture as highly positive, recognized our strong leadership, and highlighted how well-supported and valued our staff feel. We are immensely proud of every team member and the difference they make in the lives of those we support every day.
